In celebration of World Tourism Day and in support of the Philippines’ tourism campaign, the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, in partnership with SM Xiamen, organized a simple unveiling ceremony on 12 October 2017 of the photo display of Philippine tourist destinations at SM Xiamen’s bridge walk.

In his brief remarks, Consul General Flores boasted the Philippines’ more than 7,500 islands—which means 7,500 different destinations for the traveler to visit. He also addressed the travel agents who were in attendance and underlined their important role in promoting the beauty of the Philippines. Finally, Consul General Flores announced the possibility of holding tourism promotional activities in partnership with SM Xiamen on a quarterly basis.

The poster sticker display features famous destinations in the Philippines—Manila, Davao, Dumaguete, Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, and Cebu. The sticker posters are displayed along SM’s bridge walk connecting SM City Xiamen and SM Lifestyle, a very strategic platform considering that 30,000-50,000 people traverse the bridge walk daily. Aside from the posters, promotional videos of the Philippines will also be played on the LED TV fronting SM’s bridge walk. The photo display and the videos will be featured until the end of October 2017.
