The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen participated in the Singapore-Philippines-Malaysia-India Friendly Bowling Tournament 2017 held at the C & D Bowling Center, Xiamen City on 15 October 2017.

The Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) successfully co-organized the annual bowling event with Singapore as this year’s principal host. The event was participated by bowling enthusiasts representing four (4) competing teams from the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and India.

In brief remarks, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores commended Singapore and its co-organizers for the annual tournament and conveyed appreciation to the organizers for hosting this year’s event which provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship, understanding, camaraderie and sportsmanship among Filipinos, Singaporeans and other expats in Xiamen City.

The Singapore Team emerged the overall team champion. India was the men’s category champion while Singapore was the ladies category champion.

The tournament was followed with a dinner and awarding ceremony at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

The Consulate General supports FAX’s various events held throughout the year that redound to the socio-cultural upliftment of the Filipino community in Xiamen and Fujian Province.
