Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen called on Cebu City Mayor Tomas R. Osmeña on 23 October 2017 at the Executive Building, City Hall, Cebu City as part of festivities to highlight Cebu-Xiamen Friendship Day within the framework of Cebu-Xiamen sister-city partnership.

Consul General Flores expressed appreciation to Mayor Osmeña for the warm welcome as well as for the opportunity to convey the Consulate General’s efforts to contribute to the nurturing of the sister-city relations between Cebu and Xiamen. Consul General Flores also took the opportunity to personally invite the Mayor for the launchings on 26 October 2017 of the photo exhibit on the “Beauty of Fujian” and Fujian Food Festival at the Golden Prince Hotel and Suites in Cebu City.

Consul General Flores informed Mayor Osmeña of the “University Road Tour of Cebu”, a Consulate General’s initiative, which seeks to provide possibilities of exploring academic linkages and cooperation between among institutions in Cebu and Xiamen cities.

Consul General Flores was joined by Professor Shi Xueqin, Vice Dean of Xiamen University Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Institute and Ms. Ma. Regina Moga II, Hotel Executive Manager of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, representing their respective institution/establishment which partnered with the Consulate General for the Friendship Day activities.

The Consulate General also arranged to put up part of the photo exhibit at the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu, another institutional partner.
