The Philippine Tourism Office in Shanghai (PTO-Shanghai), with the support and cooperation of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, successfully launched the 1st Philippine Cruise Tourism Promotion on 31 October 2017 at the Grand China Ballroom, Kempinski Hotel, Xiamen City.
In his message, Consul General Flores highlighted the thrusts of the Philippine Cruise Tourism Strategy as well as the strong and deep historical, cultural and economic links between the Philippines and Fujian/China as the main reasons for the Fujian/Chinese tourists to consider the Philippines as a growing and popular cruise destination.
Mr. Ireneo Reyes, PTO-Shanghai’s new Tourism Attaché, spearheaded the Philippine delegation which included DOT Region I Director Martin Valera, DOT Regional Directors from Manila, Regions IV, VI, Kalibo Provincial Office, PTO Shanghai, Bureau of Immigration and representatives of various tour operators from the Philippines.
The event was attended by more than 80 travel and tour operators, the media and other stake holders from Xiamen City.
