Philippine Consul General to Xiamen Julius Caesar A. Flores met the Iloilo City delegation comprising officials and its delegation on 11 December 2017 at Quanzhou Hotel to explore the possibilities in forging Iloilo-Quanzhou sister-city partnership. The proposed partnership is Consulate General’s initiative under its cultural and economic diplomacy thrusts to enhance friendship, cooperation and intensify relations between our regions and two countries and peoples.

The Iloilo delegation was invited by Quanzhou City officials to reciprocate the visit of Quanzhou City officials to Iloilo City in October last year.

The Iloilo delegation was led by Mr. Roberto Divinagracia, Iloilo City Deputy Mayor/City Engineer, Councilor Eduardo Peñaranda and Mr. Ramon Cua Locsin, President, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Panay, Inc. who led the private sector.

Consul General Flores expressed appreciation to Quanzhou City officials for hosting the delegation and for their valuable support and commitment in pursuing the proposed partnership. Consul General Flores also underscored the importance of cooperation in the fields of trade and investments, tourism and education as well as cultural and academic exchanges.
