The Xiamen Computer Industry Association (XCIA) successfully undertook a business trip to the Philippines from 09-14 April 2018 co-led by its Chairman, Mr. Li Zhijan and Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores with the following highlights:

Visit to Cavite Ecozone

The delegation visited Cavite Economic Zone and was briefed by Cavite Ecozone officials led by Atty. Norma Tañag. The delegation was also given a tour of the ecozone’s sprawling and impressive facilities and complex.

The delegation was provided comprehensive and informative briefings from the following government agencies and organizations which were all well received and generated lively discussions among the presentors and XCIA members:

  • Meeting with the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) / the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) - Presentation made by Mr. Jonathan de Luzuriaga, President

  • The Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) – Presentations made by Ms. Ria Lu, Executive Director, and Mr. Solon Chen, Board Member

  • Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) Courtesy Visit – Presentation made by Mr. Jeffrey T. Ng, Vice President

  • Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) - Presentation made by Mr. Elmer San Pascual, Group Manager/Promotions and Public Relations Group

XCIA also networked and interfaced with private sector organizations during hosted dinners:

  • Filipino-Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Youth Committee led by Mr. Jaime Co, President

  • Philippine-Xiamen Amity Association / Philippine-Xiamen Chamber of Commerce led by Mr. Sebastian CD Chow, President

XCIA expressed its sincere appreciation for the hospitality extended to them both by Philippine government officials and their private counterparts.

As XCIA also conveyed earlier its keen interest to invest in the Philippines, XCIA informed that it will conduct a post-mortem review of the Manila visit with the view to taking concrete steps toward the accomplishment of the aforementioned objectives.

The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen will closely work with XCIA to follow-up on its investment plans in the Philippines.
