The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen participated in the “20th Barkadahan Sportsfest 2018” organized by the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) held at the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) gymnasium on 13 May 2018 as part of its Filipino community outreach program bringing together 200 Filipinos from Xiamen and other parts of Fujian province.
Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores gave brief remarks and expressed appreciation to FAX for organizing the annual sports event which is a valuable platform to promote unity, friendship and camaraderie through sports. He also expressed appreciation to the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) for providing the venue and facilities.
The whole day event successfully brought together members of the Filipino community as well as the Consulate General’s officers and staff who participated in various sports and recreational events such as badminton, volleyball, basketball and team fun games.
The green team emerged as the over-all champion outclassing the red, blue and yellow teams.
The Consulate General will endeavor to continue to support FAX events which contribute to the promotion of unity among the members of the Filipino community.
