Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores recently met with Mr. Bernie Ye, VP Sales/Commercial of COSTA Cruises Shipping Services Co., Ltd., Mr. Huang Yubin, General Manager of Xiamen Cruise Homeport Group, and Mr. Zhang Hai Jun, VP and General Manager, Xiamen West Bay Cruise City Investment Ltd and discussed the forthcoming scheduled cruise tours from Xiamen to the Philippines.

The cruise organizers were given assurances of the Consulate General’s full support and cooperation, specially with the visa needs of their cruise passengers. The meeting also gave the cruise organizers the opportunity to discuss with Consul General Flores some requests and concerns pertaining to their forthcoming cruise tours to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, COSTA Cruise (COSTA Atlantica Cruise ship) together with Golden Spring Tourism Group recently held its press conference at the Conrad Hotel, Xiamen City, where they officially announced the schedules of cruise tours to Asia from Xiamen for 2018.

A total of fourteen (14) cruise tours are scheduled by COSTA Atlantica from 20 October to 13 December 2018 of which seven are going to the Philippines with the following schedules:

20-25 October 2018            -           Xiamen-Manila-Xiamen

25-30 October 2018            -           Xiamen-Manila-Xiamen

30 Oct - 03 Nov 2018         -           Xiamen-Manila-Xiamen

15-19 November 2018       -           Xiamen-Manila-Xiamen

19-23 November 2018       -           Xiamen-Subic-Xiamen

23-27 November 2018       -           Xiamen-Manila-Xiamen

01-09 December 2018       -           Xiamen-Manila-Subic-Xiamen

The destinations of the other seven cruise tours include Japan (5), Vietnam (1) and Hong Kong (1). COSTA Atlantica has a capacity of 2680 passengers per ship.

Chinese tourist arrivals in the Philippines is expected to further increase in the coming years as cruise tourism continues to gain grounds in China, particularly in Xiamen City and Fujian Province coupled by the Consulate General’s strong tourism campaign as part of its economic diplomacy thrusts.
