A delegation of officials from the University of Science and Technology in Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro led by Dr. Rosalino A. Quirino, OIC President paid a courtesy call on Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores at the Consulate General on 09 July 2018.

While in Xiamen City, the delegation signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Xiamen University of Science and Technology (XMUT) to pursue partnership/collaborations for students/faculty exchange programs and faculty development programs including collaborative research projects, capacity-building and industry engagement activities.

Other members of the delegation were Dr. Ruth G. Cabahug, Chancellor; Dr. Consorcio S. Namoco, Jr., Vice-Chancellor for Student and Academic Affairs and Dr. Herbert Glenn P. Reyes, Executive Assistant to the President for External Affairs.

Consul General Flores warmly received the delegation and expressed support and assistance in pursuit of academic linkages and cooperation between both institutions.

During the call, the delegation was also given a short briefing by Consul General Flores on the many facets of the Consulate General’s work covering political, economic, public and cultural diplomacy thrusts.
