In celebration of the 2018 National Heroes Month (“Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani”), the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, launches the “Unveiling of Portraits of Our Great Forebears” exhibit on 16 August 2018 held at the Consulate General’s Sentro Rizal Hall/Bulwagang Bagumbayan.
Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores led the unveiling of the 10 portraits of Philippines’ great heroes together with special guests, Engr. Roman Go, Chairman of MXIS and Mr. Benito Choa, General Manager of ETON Properties (Xiamen) Ltd. and Mr. Eric Dychauco, President of Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX).
Consul General Flores commended Project Saysay, the main proponent of the heroes’ portraits, for its youth-led advocacy to spread the ideals and values of our great forebears (“Palaganapin ang diwa’t aral ng mga dakilang Pilipino”) by generating relevant, useful, and inspiring communication materials that are sourced from the rich annals of Philippine history.
The event was attended by members and officers of the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX), faculty members of the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS), members of the Filipino community, Consulate General’s officers and staff as well as other guests and contacts.
