The Fujian Provincial People’s Government held a reception in commemoration of the 69th Founding Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 40th Anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-Up on 28 September 2018 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou City, Fujian.
Fujian Vice Governor Li De Jin warmly welcomed the representatives of foreign diplomatic and consular missions in Fujian, China led by Philippine Consul General to Xiamen Julius Caesar A. Flores, Consul General Chi Chiew Sum of the Consulate General of Singapore in Xiamen and Consul General Karntimon Ruksakiati of the Royal Thai Consulate as well as high ranking government officials and distinguished guests during the reception. Vice Governor Li, in his remarks, highlighted the accomplishments of Fujian’s economic and social development and expressed optimism on its continued growth and success in the future.
Consul General Flores, on behalf of the Fujian Consular Corps, expressed warm felicitations on China’s milestone and delivered a message underscoring the importance of nurturing relations between the Nanyang (Southeast Asia) countries along the Maritime Silk Road and China. He expressed assurances that the Nanyang Countries will continue to cooperate and work closely with the Fujian government to deepen friendship and further strengthen relations as well as increase people-to-people exchanges.
At the sidelines of the reception, a photo exhibition was launched, highlighting the milestone and accomplishments of Fujian’s International Exchanges in 40 years of Reform and Opening-up.
