Senior Philippine government officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will participate in the 14th Foreign Government Officials Chinese Class 2018 – 2019 at the Huaqiao University Chinese Language and Culture College in Xiamen City. A simple welcome ceremony was held at Huaqiao University, Jimei District, Xiamen City on 14 September 2018.
This year’s class, the 5th batch from the Philippines, was co-led by PC Inspectors Shalom Faye Susada of Police Regional Office 13 CARAGA and Jurex Almogela Urbano of the Civil Security Group (CSG) and PDEA Intelligence Officer Errold Dayrit of PDEA NHQ.
Other PDEA officers are Ms. Angeli Frencillo, Administrative Officer II, PDEA NHQ; Ms. Ma. Lei Anne Rosales, Training Specialist II, PDEA Academy, Camp Gen. Mariano N. Castaneda, Silang, Cavite; Mr. Elmer Ebona, Investigation Agent I, RO 13, CARAGA and Ms. Cheryl Legaspi, Investigation Agent V, RO 11. This is the first batch of PDEA officers who will participate in the said program.
More than 100 government representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Suriname, and the Philippines participated in the 10-month Chinese language class from Sept 2018 to July 2019.
The Consulate General conveyed the Philippine Government’s appreciation to Huaqiao University in recognition of its firm commitment to continue its foreign language training program which serves as a valuable platform for people-to-people contacts between the Philippines and Fujian,China. The Consulate General also expressed its full support and cooperation to continue to work with Huaqiao University to increase and widen the participation of Philippine representatives in this significant program.
