Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores turned over to Jinjiang City Museum the art work entitled “Rizal’s Many Great Inspirations” to commemorate Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s 122nd death anniversary and as part of the Consulate General’s cultural diplomacy program for 2018.

The art work, measuring 4ft X 8ft, with oil on canvas as medium, is done by Irineo  “Rene” San Agustin Robles, Filipino visual artist par excellence.

The donation was made possible through the auspices of Honorable Luis “Chavit” Singson, National President, Philippine Councilors League (PCL).

Jinjiang City Museum has a special Rizal corner showcasing the national hero’s ancestral roots and other art works. In previous years to enhance the Museum’s Rizal corner, the Consulate General has donated a Rizal bust, photo memorabilia and a painting.

The only Rizal Park in the Asia-Pacific region sits on a 5-hectare complex in Jinjiang City as a tribute to the national hero and his ancestral roots, it serves as a lasting symbol of the meaningful and deep historical and kinship ties between Fujian Province and the Philippines.
