Iloilo City’s Economic Team, led by Ms. Ritchel Gavan, Head, Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO), visited Xiamen recently to meet local officials and visited business and trade related offices and organizations to promote Iloilo City as part of its development thrusts.

The Team met Mr. Yan Zhiping, Vice Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Branch of Xiamen City. Both sides expressed keen interest towards future economic cooperation and exchanges.

The Team also visited the Xiamen Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and were able to meet Mr. Alex Zheng, representative of Economic Development Bureau, Xiamen FTZ. They were briefed on FTZ’s major work and observed the One-Stop-Shop and other facilities at the Zone.

The Team was also met Mr. Dustin Sebastian, Representative of the Philippine-Xiamen Business Chamber and Amity Club, who discussed possible cooperation and exchanges with Iloilo City in the future.

The Team, coming from both public and private sectors, included Ms. Dolly Anne Zoluaga, Assistant Department Head, City Planning Office, Iloilo City and Ms. Ma. Lea Victoria Lara, Executive Director, Iloilo Business Club.

The Consulate General facilitated the visit which hopes to pursue concrete cooperation and exchanges with Iloilo City to strengthen relations with Fujian province.
