The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, in collaboration with the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX), Filipinos in China (FINCH) and the Manila-Xiamen International School (MXIS), successfully held on 02 June 2019, the Independence Day- FilCom Event 2019 at the MXIS multi-purpose hall.

The one-day event included a Catholic mass service, salu-salo program, parlor games and entertainment which was warmly enjoyed by close to 200 Filipinos from different areas of Fujian province.

In his message, Consul General Julius Caesar Flores highlighted this year’s Independence Day theme “Tapang ng Bayan, Malasakit sa Mamayan” calling on all Filipinos to continue to live a patriotic life despite being away from the motherland and help contribute to the building of the Filipino nation. He also reminded the Filipinos to contact the Consulate General whenever they need assistance and particularly for new arrivals in Fujian Province, to register at the Consulate General to ensure that they are properly documented, be easily located in cases of emergencies, and provided appropriate assistance in due course.

The event was capped with the drawing of the raffle’s grand prize of a round-trip ticket provided by Philippine Airlines-Xiamen.
