The Philippine Consulate General welcomed the 5-member delegation of the Bureau of Immigration of Davao City International Airport (DIA) on 21 September 2019 at the Fliport Hotel in Jinjiang City for the Service Exchange Tour in Jinjiang and Xiamen cities from 21 – 28 September 2019.
The Tour is organized by the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China (PROC) in Davao under the framework of Davao-Jinjiang sister city partnership.
The delegation was led by Mr. Eric L. Fernandez, Head Supervisor along with Mr. Datu Abdullah C. Madale, Jr., Terminal Head, BCIU-DIA, Immigration Officers I Ms. Marina D. Fernandez and Mr. Ryan Ray S. Milan and Immigration Assistant, Mr. Mark Andrew N. Asistido.
Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores expressed appreciation to DIA-BI delegation for their valuable contribution to the promotion and protection of Philippines’ interests as well as pursuing international linkages to pursue friendship and cooperation with its counterparts.
The delegation is expected to observe immigration best practices aimed to improve and promote the development of quality service as well as well strengthen ties and forge cooperation with its institutional counterparts in Jinjiang and Xiamen cities.
The Davao-Jinjiang route is the only direct air link between Davao City and China which caters to Chinese travellers going to Davao City and the rest of Mindanao. DIA is the only Philippine airport serving the direct link between Jinjiang City and Mindanao.
