Vice Consul and Acting Head of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen Ms. Elaine Mae V. Laruan-Hernandez received a donation of three (3) boxes containing 5,000 pieces of face masks for use of the Consulate General’s personnel and families from Mr. Ye Zihai of Yunzan (Xiamen) Industrial Co. Ltd. on 30 March 2020 at the Consulate General’s Bulwagang Bayan (Heroes Hall)

Vice Consul Laruan-Hernandez expressed gratitude and appreciation for the generosity shown by Mr. Ye.

Vice Consul Laruan-Hernandez also welcomed the donation as both timely and relevant as it will provide the much needed help by frontline personnel who are extending unwavering service and sacrifice despite the risks of the present situation of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The turn-over of donation was also witnessed by Ms. Angelita C. Aguilar, Administrative Officer and other representatives of the Yunzan (Xiamen) Industrial Co. Ltd.

In consideration of the needs of other Philippine Posts in China, the personnel at the Department of Foreign of Affairs in Manila, and the Filipino community within the Consulate General’s jurisdiction, the Consulate General shared 1,000 pieces of face masks to the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai, 2,000 pieces to DFA Manila, 1,000 pieces to the Filcom organization, Filipinos in China (FINCH), 500 pieces to the teachers at the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS), and 100 pieces to the Filipino members of the Lingling Circus in Xiamen City.
