26 September 2020, Xiamen City. The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen sent care packages to the eleven (11) stranded Filipino seafarers onboard Ocean Star 86, and to the five (5) seafarers onboard Chinese fishing vessel Maria P yesterday, 25 September 2020 and today, 26 September, respectively. The care packages include ready to eat noodles, canned goods, alcohol, water, soap, and PPEs.

Vice Consul Elaine Mae V. Laruan-Hernandez spoke with the seafarers from the two Chinese fishing vessels, Ocean Star 86 and Maria P, and was assured that they are well and looking forward to their eventual repatriation. Maria P Chief Mate Reymund Paje also added that their salaries are given on time.

Meanwhile, the Consulate General is continuing with its efforts to facilitate the repatriation of the above-mentioned seafarers together with other stranded Filipinos in Fujian province as soon as possible. END
