12 November 2020, Xiamen City. Three Filipino crew of MV Bulk Norway were repatriated on 11November 2020 from Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, PROC to the Philippines via Tokyo, Japan.

The seafarers have been onboard MV Bulk Norway for more than fifteen (15) months before they were able to dry-dock at Fujian Huandong Shipyard on 01 October 2020. They were supposed to set sail for Australia but were not able to due to travel restrictions because of COVID-19 pandemic.

While stranded in Chinese waters, the Filipino seafarers requested the Consulate General’s assistance for their repatriation to the Philippines as soon as possible.

Despite the travel restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Consulate General was able to arrange the repatriation of the Filipino seafarers.
