Xiamen City - Vice Consul and Acting Head of Post Elaine Mae V. Laruan-Hernandez attended the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) Core and Approaches to Learning (ATL) Day on May 26, 2021 at the Vienna International Hotel, Xiamen City.
The conference was hosted by the MXIS Social Media Crew and TEDEd Club led by its club’s exploration leaders, Kevin Yeo (Grade 9) and Nilabh Anand (Grade 9) under the supervision and guidance of Filipino teacher, Mr. Mitchel Africa as part of the Core and ATL (Approaches To Learning) Day of the Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) in MXIS. Other activities included Personal Projects of the MYP Year 5 (Grade 10) students, the Extended Essays of the DP Year 2 (Grade 12) students, the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) journey of DP Year 2 (Grade 12) students, and the Theory of Knowledge projects of DP Year 1 (Grade 11) students.
The said activities empowered the participants to express, share, and collaborate on ideas.
The students also demonstrated their passion in Science, skills in design and ingenuity in the personal project exhibits, while others exhibited their skills in the art of public speaking at the Extended Essay Symposium and TEDEd Talks.
